Parents Group\School Council
At PEPS there is an emphasis on the home/school partnership. Our school encourages and welcomes parental/community involvement and participation in a number of areas of school life. These include assisting in the classroom, volunteering in the canteen, helping in the school library, on excursions or on special occassions (eg costume making for the concert). Gardening is another area where help is always needed. As a member of the PEPS community you might also like to consider becoming a member of the School Council. The School Council is a collaborative team of parents, the principal and a staff member, which meets every month
(currently on a Monday evening) to discuss and decide upon a diverse range of issues, ranging from door locks or the schools chooks to curriculum and grade structures. School Council participates in the formulation of policies, for example, uniform or headlice. School Council oversees the schools' financial accounts as well as participating in the schools' review process and setting goals for future planning and direction. School Council even helps select school Principals. School Council also contributes to and shares in the schools vision to improve learning outcomes for all students. Consider becoming a member of the team. It is a great way of becoming involved in the school if work committments mean your unavailable to contribute within school hours. Current councillors are pictured above and in the office corridor so they are easy to identify and approach.
We are a friendly and approachable bunch and a great way of meeting and being introduced to the PEPS community.
